Evidence Informed Framework for Upper Extremity Stroke Rehabilitation
Provider Name:
Physiopedia Plus
Activity Type:
On-Demand Activity
Description:
Upper extremity impairment affects most stroke survivors limiting the arm and hand function needed for daily activities and independence. This course translates current evidence into person-centred care across the acute-to-chronic continuum. It provides an overview of how to select assessments and evidence-based interventions to help patients regain meaningful use of the affected limb and work towards recovery goals that matter to them.
Objectives:
By the end of the course the participant will be able to select appropriate assessment measures to classify the severity of lower extremity impairment after stroke (low)
By the end of the course the participant will be able to describe person-specific lower extremity interventions based on an individual's current motor capacity and recovery stage (low)
By the end of the course the participant will be able to explain how emerging technologies and neuroplasticity principles may shape the future of lower extremity stroke rehabilitation (low)
By the end of the course the participant will be able to describe the ""find, facilitate, force, function, and fun framework"" for organising lower extremity interventions by severity of impairment (low)"
