FMS Summit: Advancing Musculoskeletal Health Through Movement
FMS Summit: Advancing Musculoskeletal Health Through Movement
Provider Name: Functionalmovement.Com
Activity Type: Single Occurrence Activity
Description: Musculoskeletal (MSK) health is one of today’s most significant health and performance challenges. For nearly 30 years, Functional Movement Systems has helped professionals better understand the role movement plays in identifying limitations, guiding interventions, and improving long-term outcomes. The FMS Summit brings together practical strategies, proven methodologies, and innovative approaches for addressing MSK health across fitness, rehabilitation, performance, and wellness. Sessions will explore the entire continuum—from communicating more effectively with patients and clients to applying specific screening, assessment, exercise, and intervention strategies. Throughout the Summit, movement serves as the foundation, while recognizing that lasting MSK health requires a broader, individualized approach. Attendees will leave with actionable tools and strategies they can immediately apply to help people move better, stay active, maintain independence, and perform at their best throughout life.
Objectives: Upon completion of the FMS Summit, participants will be able to: 1. Explain the role of movement assessment in guiding programming, clinical decision-making, performance, and long-term movement health. 2. Identify physical, physiological, and contextual factors that may influence movement, recovery, injury risk, and human performance. 3. Apply evidence-informed screening, assessment, and intervention concepts to improve decision-making across fitness, rehabilitation, and performance settings. 4. Analyze the relationships among movement quality, breathing, motor control, recovery, lifestyle, and emerging technologies to develop a more comprehensive approach to client and athlete care. 5. Integrate movement-based principles with current research, technology, communication, and interdisciplinary strategies to enhance client outcomes, professional practice, and program development.
