Description: This course will provide attendees with an advanced understanding of the biomechanics of the meniscus, injury pathology or the meniscus, surgical repair techniques of the meniscus, and rehabilitation of the post-surgical treatment of the meniscus. This course will offer both didactic and laboratory time for the attendees.

Objectives: • Explain the anatomy, biomechanics, and role of the meniscus within the knee joint. • Describe the various meniscus tear patterns, which patient demographics they generally impact, and how they may affect post-operative rehabilitation. • Understand the details of different repair techniques utilized for different meniscal tear patterns and how and why these influence post-operative precautions. • Define a safe and progressive post-operative rehabilitation protocol, including awareness of red flags for repair failure, for guiding post-op meniscus repair patients to a full recovery. • Apply testing strategies to monitor and guide patient progress throughout recovery.
