VUMC Rehab Seminar November 2026
Provider Name: Vanderbilt Sports Medicine
Activity Type: Single Occurrence Activity
Description: Brachial Plexus Treatment and Pain Interventional Treatment
Objectives: The educational need for this course is to improve Athletic Trainers’ ability to interpret clinical information, communicate effectively with patients and members of the healthcare team, and incorporate evidence-informed principles into rehabilitation planning. Athletic Trainers may not consistently incorporate the expected physiology of nerve healing, the implications of injury chronicity, and the clinical utility of electrodiagnostic testing into patient education and multidisciplinary care coordination. They may also have difficulty identifying when interventional procedures may be appropriate adjuncts to rehabilitation or explaining why procedural outcomes do not necessarily predict long-term functional improvement.
